What I Ate at Universal Kids Resort

One of my favorite parts of visiting any theme park is discovering the food—and Universal Kids Resort certainly delivered! Designed with families in mind, the park's dining options are just as colorful, creative, and fun as its attractions, offering themed meals and treats that appeal to both kids and adults.

During my visit, I sampled several of the park's dining options, from refreshing meals perfect for a hot Texas afternoon to adorable themed desserts. One thing I especially appreciated is that each themed land has its own dining location or snack stand, so you're never far from a meal, refreshing drink, or sweet treat when hunger strikes.

Another standout? The variety. Universal Kids Resort features four quick-service restaurants serving themed meals, along with six dedicated snack and beverage locations offering desserts, specialty drinks, and grab-and-go favorites throughout the park. With ten dining venues in total, families will have no trouble finding something everyone will enjoy.

What I Tried

Goofy Goobers – Bikini Bottom

My first stop was Goofy Goobers, where I ordered the Humala Bebuhla Zeebuhla Chop Salad with Grilled Chicken($14.99).

This refreshing salad combines Napa cabbage, romaine lettuce, tomatoes, bacon, blue cheese, radishes, cucumbers, a bright lime dressing, and crispy beet strips. It was absolutely delicious—and I would order it again without hesitation.

The portion size was just right: filling without being too heavy, making it the perfect lunch on a warm Texas day.

If you're traveling with little ones (or simply have a sweet tooth), don't skip the signature over-the-top sundae. It perfectly matches the playful SpongeBob theme and looks just as fun as it tastes.

Tienda de Dulces – DreamWorks' Puss in Boots

Inside Tienda de Dulces, the themed candy shop in DreamWorks' Puss in Boots, I couldn't resist the adorable flower-shaped cake pop ($10.00).

It featured strawberry cake coated in white chocolate with decorative icing. While it was a bit sweeter than I normally prefer, the flavor was excellent—and it may have been one of the cutest desserts I saw all day.

The shop is filled with beautifully themed sweets, making it worth a stop even if you're simply browsing.

Jurassic Canteen

At Jurassic Canteen, I cooled off with the Berry Refresher, a colorful specialty drink featuring pineapple Fanta, Powerade Mountain Berry Blast, and dinosaur gummies.

It's fun, refreshing, and sure to be a favorite with younger dinosaur fans.

Snacks Worth Coming Back For

Although I couldn't sample everything the park offers, Universal Kids Resort clearly put a lot of thought into its snack lineup.

Throughout the park you'll find:

  • Colorful cupcakes

  • Creatively decorated ice cream

  • Shrek-shaped pretzels

  • Specialty popcorn flavors

  • Fun themed desserts

  • Grab-and-go treats perfect between attractions

Whether you're craving something sweet or savory, the snacks become part of the experience—not just something to eat while moving to the next ride.

Parent Tip

Plan your meal break during the hottest part of the day.

A shaded or air-conditioned restaurant is the perfect place to cool down, recharge, and let everyone relax before heading back out for more adventures.

Dining Is Part of the Adventure

One of my favorite things about dining at Universal Kids Resort is that the food isn't simply a break between attractions—it becomes part of the story. From creative presentations to immersive themed locations, every meal adds another layer of fun to your day.

If you're considering a visit to this colorful new destination, I'd love to help you plan a stress-free vacation that's perfectly tailored to your family.
