My First Time on Margaritaville at Sea Islander – Fins Up First Impressions

I just got back from my first sailing on Margaritaville at Sea Islander, and I’ll say it right now…
I’m already booked to go again.

From the second I stepped onboard, I knew this was going to be my kind of trip.

The first thing I saw? A giant flip flop right in the main lobby—with the Flip Flop Lounge welcoming you in. And I thought…
Yep, this is exactly what I was hoping for.

First Impressions: Instant Vacation Mode

Everyone was already in that laid-back, “fins up” state of mind. If you’re a Parrot Head, you know exactly what I mean—good vibes, no stress, just ready to enjoy the moment.

It truly felt like everyone had checked their worries at the door.

And honestly, that was the biggest thing that stood out to me…
the feeling

It just felt easy. Relaxing. Fun.

Like a “changes in latitudes, changes in attitudes” kind of getaway inspired by Jimmy Buffett.

The Overall Vibe

This isn’t a stuffy or formal cruise—it’s the opposite.

Think:

  • Flip flops instead of formalwear

  • Live music around every corner

  • A drink in your hand (if you want one)

  • And the freedom to do exactly what you feel like doing

Want to be social and join the fun? You’ll find it.
Prefer to sit back, relax, and take it all in? That’s there too.

And that’s what I loved most—you can truly make this cruise whatever you want it to be.

So… What’s My Takeaway?

This cruise is all about:

  • Letting go

  • Slowing down

  • Having fun your way

It’s not luxury—and it’s not trying to be.
It’s a few days to escape, recharge, and simply enjoy life.

And honestly? Sometimes that’s exactly what you need.

Would I Sail Again?

Absolutely. No question.

In fact… I already am.

I’m booked again for February 2027, and I cannot wait to get back to that island state of mind.

A Quick Note From Me

As a travel advisor, I always want to be transparent—
I paid for this cruise out of pocket at full price and did not receive any discounts or special rates.

These are my honest thoughts and personal experience so I can best help my clients decide if this is the right fit for them.
