Inside a Grand Terrace Suite on Margaritaville at Sea Islander

One of the biggest questions I always get is:
“What are the rooms like?”

So let’s take a look at where I stayed on my recent sailing—
the Grand Terrace Suite on Margaritaville at Sea Islander.

And overall?
I would book this room again in a heartbeat.

First Impressions of the Suite

From the moment we walked in, the space felt open and comfortable—especially for just the two of us.

The suite included:

  • A large bathroom

  • A separate vanity/makeup area (a huge plus when sharing a room!)

  • Two spacious closets with plenty of room to unpack

  • And a large private balcony that quickly became my favorite spot

The décor leaned into that classic Margaritaville style—
beachy, relaxed, and easygoing.

Nothing over-the-top—just clean, comfortable, and perfectly in line with the ship’s vibe.

The Balcony = My Favorite Spot

If I had to pick one standout feature of this room… it’s the balcony.

I spent so much time out there simply:

  • Sitting

  • Relaxing

  • Watching the ocean

  • Doing absolutely nothing (which was kind of the goal 😄)

If you enjoy quiet moments on a cruise, this alone can make the room worth it.

Cleanliness

This was one of the cleanest ships I’ve been on—and the room reflected that.

Everything felt:

  • Fresh

  • Well-maintained

  • Thoughtfully cared for

And that level of cleanliness really makes a difference in how comfortable you feel throughout your trip.

A Few Honest Notes

I always keep it real, so here are a couple things to be aware of:

Room Temperature

  • Started out very cold

  • After adjusting, it became a bit stuffy

  • Not a dealbreaker—just something we noticed

The Bed

  • On the firmer side

  • I personally liked it

  • My roommate found it too firm

This one really comes down to personal preference.

Concierge – Is It Worth It?

Short answer:
No, I would skip it.

While our suite included concierge service, I didn’t feel like it added enough value to justify the extra cost.

My recommendation:

  • Book the suite

  • Skip the concierge upgrade

Would I Book This Room Again?

Yes—100%.

The layout, the space, and especially the balcony made this a great choice for a relaxing cruise.

This suite is a great fit if you’re looking for:

  • Extra room to spread out

  • A spacious, private balcony

  • A comfortable place to unwind

Final Thoughts

The Grand Terrace Suite perfectly matches the Margaritaville vibe—
easygoing, relaxed, and just what you need for a few days away.

This isn’t about over-the-top luxury—
it’s about comfort, space, and enjoying your time onboard.

And for me?
That balcony alone sealed the deal.

A Quick Note From Me

As a travel advisor, I always want to be transparent—
I paid for this cruise out of pocket at full price and did not receive any discounts or special rates.
