The Grown-Up Guide to the Disney Fantasy

Good news! If you think a Disney cruise is only for families and kids, you’re in for a surprise. Disney Cruise Line is filled with magical details for every age and that includes plenty of spaces designed just for adults. From kid-free pool decks and laid-back lounges to upscale dining and spa experiences, these adult-only areas are the perfect escape when you want some relaxation between all the fun. Whether you’re sailing with your family while the kids are off enjoying the kids’ clubs, traveling as a couple, cruising with friends, or taking a solo adventure, Disney makes it easy to stay young at heart while still savoring a little peace, quiet, and grown-up fun.

On my last sailing aboard the Disney Fantasy, I cruised with my family, and we are all adults. Even without kids, we still had the best time! Here are the adult-only features on the Disney Fantasy that stood out to me most and make me want to sail on this ship again:

Adult-Only Lounges & Bars

These are just some of the areas on the ship that are for guests 18+. In these areas, you you can enjoy beer, wine, cocktails, live music, beautiful views, and themed activities!

  • La Piazza: This is an Italian‑inspired lounge in the Europa district, and my favorite bar on the ship! It is designed to look like an Italian carousel complete with a circular design and hundreds of carousel-style lights.

  • Skyline Lounge: While the drinks here were not my personal favorite, I know others love it. I did love the decor! The city skyline visuals behind the bar change throughout the day, and they are all beautiful! Be on the lookout for hidden Disney characters in the artwork.

  • Currents: This open‑air bar on Deck 13 overlooks the adult pool area. When we boarded the Disney Fantasy, this was our first stop. We all ordered a drink and toasted to the sailing!

  • O’Gill’s Pub: Another one of my favorites on board because of the theming and fun cast members behind the bar. This Irish‑style pub features beers, spirits, and sports on big screens. This is where we attended a Beer Tasting onboard and had a great time!

  • Ooh La La: I wish I spent more time here because it is so pretty! This is an elegant French‑themed lounge for drinks and relaxation. Throughout a few nights of our sailing, there was a pianist performing here as well.

  • The Tube: We love The Tube and ended up here every day and night! This was our go-to meeting spot, where we went to trivia every night before dinner, and some of the best adult-only entertainment can be found here in the evenings! My favorite show is Match Your Mate.

  • Cove Café: This adults‑only café is also found on the adults-only pool deck. During the day, you can enjoy specialty coffee/tea. At night, you can enjoy charcuterie, snacks, and cocktails!

Adults‑Only Dining

Every Disney ship offers adult-only dining options for an additional cost. While I did not take advantage of these on this sailing, I have enjoyed Palo Brunch and Dinner on the Wish and the Magic. I highly recommend. It will be one of the best brunches you ever had!

  • Palo – Adult‑exclusive Italian dining

  • Remy – Adult-exclusive French fine dining. Remy also offered a special dessert tasting during our sailing too!

Relaxation & Wellness

While the bars and lounges can be relaxing or lively depending on the time of day, these spaces on the Disney Fantasy are focused on unwinding and relaxing:

  • Quiet Cove Pool: Adults‑only pool area with loungers, whirlpools, and the adjacent Cove Café. I love the shallow areas of the pool for reading and the pool bar!

  • Satellite Falls: This is an additional adults‑only water feature on the Disney Fantasy. There are some great views from Satellite Falls! This is another great pool deck for relaxing and reading.

  • The Senses Spa & Salon: Whether you are considering booking one treatment or a pass for the entirety of the sailing, there is something for everyone. Rainforest passes, massages, and pedicures are some of my favorites! I am happy to provide my clients with recommendations.

  • Fitness Center & Classes: Workout equipment and exercise/toning classes for adults. Admittedly, I do not normally work out while cruising; however, I have attended the morning stretching sessions on board, and they are relaxing and a great way to start the day.

Adults‑Only Activities

As you may have guessed by now, on the Disney Fantasy, the fun isn’t just for kids. There are plenty of experiences designed just for adults, too. One of the highlights is the variety of drink tastings offered onboard, from champagne and wine to margaritas, beer, and more. These events take place in the ship’s lounges and are typically reserved for guests 21+, making them a relaxed and delicious way to enjoy some kid-free fun.

The adults-only perks don’t stop once you leave the ship! Disney’s private island destinations also feature their own grown-up escape: Serenity Bay. If your Disney Fantasy sailing includes a stop at Castaway Cay or Lighthouse Point, you can spend the day at Serenity Bay enjoying adults-only bars, an adults-only lunch buffet, and a peaceful, kid-free stretch of beach that I truly believe is the definition of “paradises.”

Whether you’re planning an adults-only getaway or cruising as a parent who can’t wait to relax while your kids live their best lives in the kids’ clubs, Disney Cruise Line truly offers the best of both worlds. The Disney Fantasy has so many thoughtfully designed spaces and experiences where you can slow down, recharge, and enjoy a little extra magic at sea without ever missing out on the fun that makes Disney so special.
