Why Disney for a Girls’ Weekend?

Walt Disney World might be an unexpected place for a girls’ getaway but that’s what makes it perfect. Think about it: it is the perfect blend of five-star dining, world-class entertainment, shopping, spa, nightlife, and enough nostalgia to make you feel like a kid again. As a woman, I feel safer traveling here than I do in my own backyard. It’s a destination where you can rope drop rides in the morning, sip champagne at brunch, enjoy a Broadway-quality show in the evening, and end the night dancing under the fireworks.

As a travel concierge, I could yap all day about the endless options, but let’s keep it simple. Here are three ideas in each category. Sorry, I can’t give away all our secrets, but here is just enough to inspire you, with plenty more waiting when you book with me. Girlies, grab a Diet Coke and let’s get cracking!

Where to Stay

Your home base sets the tone for the entire weekend. For a girls’ trip, I recommend resorts that balance luxury, fun, and convenience.

Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is the ultimate in elegance. Think Victorian architecture, serene courtyards, a world-class spa, and monorail access to Magic Kingdom. This is where you stay if you want pampering and polish, with the bonus of quick park access.

Disney’s BoardWalk Inn has vintage seaside charm with a playful, lively twist. Located on the actual BoardWalk, you’re steps away from nightlife, “sea-side” carnival acts, and EPCOT. It’s the perfect pick if your group wants late-night fun balanced with easy daytime strolling.

Disney’s Riviera Resort is a sleek, European-inspired property with chic details that make every corner Instagram-worthy. The Skyliner runs right outside, whisking you to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios in minutes. For a group of friends who want convenience and style, Riviera checks every box.

Pro tip: I’ll help match the resort to your group’s style. Whether you’re looking for spa days, nightlife, or simply the prettiest pool, we’ll find you the resort that fits best. Trust me when I say there is A LOT to choose from.

What to Eat (Brunch, of course)

No girls’ weekend is complete without brunch, and Disney has some of the best. This is your time to linger over cocktails, laugh until your cheeks hurt, and savor food that’s as memorable as the setting.

Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’ in Disney Springs is comfort food with Southern flair. Serving up fried chicken and doughnuts, deviled eggs, and famous moonshine cocktails, this brunch has “laid-back girls’ day” written all over it.

Topolino’s Terrace at Riviera Resort is where brunch gets elevated (quite literally.) Located on the rooftop, this character dining experience comes with sweeping views and an upscale menu. Think fresh-baked pastries, avocado toast, and mimosas with Mickey and friends stopping by for photos.

The Cake Bake Shop on Disney’s BoardWalk is pure whimsy. This new addition brings an Alice-in-Wonderland-meets-champagne-bar vibe. Imagine delicate pastries, sparkling décor, and cakes that double as conversation starters. It’s the kind of brunch spot where you’ll take 30 pictures before you even touch your plate.

Advanced Dining Reservations (ADRs) here can be competitive, but I’ll make sure your group has the perfect table waiting!

What to See (Shows)

One of the best parts about Walt Disney World is the entertainment. You’ll still be talking about these long after the trip.

Drawn to Life by Cirque du Soleil in Disney Springs is a collaboration between Disney Animation and Cirque that brings beloved characters to life with jaw-dropping acrobatics. It’s unlike anything else on property and perfect for a night out.

Fantasmic! at Hollywood Studios is an evening spectacular that mixes water, fire, pyrotechnics, and more Disney characters than you can count. It’s equal parts nostalgia and excitement, something you can all bond over. Oh, and they play Disney Channel classics while you wait for the show to start! Cheetahlicious!

Happily Ever After + Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away at Magic Kingdom is where the magic literally fills the streets and skies. I couldn’t pick between the two, so do both! Fireworks, music, projections, and—new this year—a sparkling nighttime parade. Goosebumps guaranteed, tears optional.

I can help you time your park days so you’re never sprinting across property to catch a show. Just sit back and enjoy.

What to Do

Beyond parks, rides, and meals, a girls’ weekend is about experiences that make you laugh, relax, and connect. Here are three that stand out:

Sangria University at Coronado Springs is one of Disney’s best-kept secrets. In this intimate class, you’ll learn how to mix sangria while sipping along the way. It’s fun, interactive, and ends with your group toasting to the weekend.

The Grand Floridian Spa is the perfect midday reset. Massages, facials, or even just a lie in the relaxation lounge will recharge you for another night of fun. Pair it with a monorail ride to dinner afterward, and it’s perfection.

Shopping at Disney Springs is retail therapy, Disney style. From luxury brands like Coach and Anthropologie to Disney-exclusive shops, you can easily spend an afternoon here. Add in cocktails from The Edison or Wine Bar George, and it’s an experience all on its own.

I can help you balance the thrills with downtime so your weekend feels refreshing, not rushed!

Don’t Skip

A few things can take a girls’ weekend from good to unforgettable. Don’t skip these essentials:

  • PhotoPass: Capture the laughter, the ride photos, and the castle group shots without stressing about who’s behind the camera. It’s worth it for the memories alone.

  • The Parks Themselves: I guess you could stick to resorts and shopping, but the parks are where the belly laughs happen. Scream through a thrill ride together, snack on spring rolls, and relive your favorite childhood moments with adult money.

  • Disney Transportation: Let Disney handle the driving. Buses, monorails, boats, and the Skyliner mean no one is stuck being the chauffeur. Everyone gets to relax and enjoy.

  • A Travel Concierge: This might be the biggest don’t-skip of them all. From menu insights and hard-to-get reservations to Lightning Lane recommendations and time-saving tricks, having an expert in your corner turns planning into part of the fun.
