Good news! There’s no bad time to visit Disney World; there’s just a “right” time for your family. The best time to travel depends on who you’re traveling with, when you can go, and what you want to experience.
Winter
Winter offers unique experiences and opportunities for lower resort rates and lighter crowds. Cooler temperatures are worth considering too!
EPCOT’s International Festival of the Arts celebrates creativity through visual art, live performances, and imaginative food. Winter is also a popular time for runDisney events, including Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend and the Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend.
Want a different park experience? Disney After Hours events at select parks offer shorter waits for select attractions and included snacks during special nighttime hours. Your Wishes Advisor can help you secure these special After Hours tickets.
Spring
Spring is a fan-favorite time to see Walt Disney World! EPCOT bursts into color for the International Flower & Garden Festival, featuring the beautiful and iconic character topiaries.
Spring also brings runDisney Springtime Surprise Weekend, with themed races and experiences that change each year.
The biggest consideration is spring break. School holidays can mean busier parks, but don't let that deter you! With your Wishes Advisor and thoughtful planning, you can still have an incredible vacation. Sometimes traveling during a school break is simply what works best for your family and that matters too.
Summer
Summer is perfect for families looking to make the most of a school break. Think longer park days, pool afternoons, nighttime entertainment, and fun through Disney’s Cool KIDS’ SUMMER offerings.
Disney’s water parks can provide a refreshing break from the theme parks and heat. For families tied to the school calendar, summer offers more time together without worrying about missed school days.
Holiday Season
Fall brings EPCOT’s International Food & Wine Festival, with flavors from around the world, plus Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom featuring special entertainment, character interactions, trick-or-treating, and themed treats.
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, Disney’s Jollywood Nights, EPCOT’s International Festival of the Holidays, and the Candlelight Processional bring festive entertainment and traditions to the parks. The Holiday Cookie Stroll is another sweet way to celebrate. And don't forget to check out the beautiful holiday decorations throughout the resorts!
So, When Should You Visit Disney World? Whenever works best for your family!
Whether you're dreaming of EPCOT's festivals, holiday magic, a summer adventure, or a trip during a quieter travel period, every season has something different to offer. When helping our clients plan, Wishes Advisors look beyond the calendar to consider resort pricing, special events, crowd patterns, and what matters most to your family.
There is not a bad time to go. There's just the right Disney trip for you. Let's start planning!
