Disembarkation Day—the final morning of your cruise—often sneaks up on first-time cruisers.
While it’s bittersweet to say goodbye, knowing what to expect makes this day smooth, organized, and far less stressful.
Let’s walk through how Disney Cruise Line handles disembarkation and how to prepare.
The Night Before: Luggage & Preparation
On the final evening, you’ll receive:
Luggage tags
Instructions for luggage placement
Your assigned debarkation group
If you choose assisted luggage, place tagged bags outside your stateroom door the night before. Disney Cast Members handle the rest.
If you prefer to carry your own luggage, you can keep everything with you and exit the ship independently.
What to Pack in Your Final Carry-On
Before placing luggage outside, pack a small bag with:
Overnight essentials
Morning clothes
Medications
Travel documents
Chargers
You’ll want easy access to everything you need for breakfast and departure.
Breakfast on Disembarkation Morning
Breakfast is included on disembarkation day and is typically served:
In your assigned rotational dining restaurant
Or at a buffet-style venue
Your assigned time and location will be listed in the Disney Cruise Line Navigator App.
This is a relaxed, seated meal—and a nice way to say goodbye to your dining team.
Exiting the Ship
After breakfast:
Follow announcements for your debarkation group
Have your documents ready
Proceed to the gangway when called
Disney’s process is efficient and well-organized, especially compared to many other cruise lines.
Once ashore, you’ll:
Collect checked luggage
Clear customs
Continue to transportation
Transportation & Timing Tips
If you’ve booked:
Disney transportation
A post-cruise hotel
A flight later in the day
Disney coordinates timing to make transitions seamless.
Tip: Avoid early morning flights whenever possible. Midday or afternoon departures reduce stress significantly.
One Last Planning Tip
Disembarkation Day is not meant to be rushed—it’s simply the final chapter.
A calm morning, a final breakfast, and one last walk through the ship helps end the trip on a positive note.
And yes—many guests start planning their next Disney cruise before they even leave the terminal.
