Adult-Only Paradise at Hideaway Beach

On my sailing on the Utopia of the Seas with Royal Caribbean, we sailed to the cruise line’s private island, Perfect Day at CocoCay. I chose to spend my day at Hideaway Beach, which is the island’s adult-only area. There is a small added charge to access this portion of the island, but I do think it was worth every penny! Here are the reasons I will make a point to go back to Hideaway Beach on my next sailing:

Exclusive Adults-Only Access

While I love kids, I love that this specific beachfront is 18+. This beach is designed as a more grown-up beach party vibe, often compared to a beach club with music and cocktails by late afternoon. In the morning, it is quiet and relaxing.

Bars & Social Vibes

There are several bars throughout the area, including a swim-up bar and places like On the Rocks. If you have a drink package on the ship, it does entitle you to enjoy drinks here too for added value and convenience! In the afternoon, the live DJ and entertainment set a fun atmosphere near the pool.

Amenities Included with Admission

I really love all the seating options available here. Comfortable seating with shaded lounge areas and beach chairs are available to you at Hideaway Beach. Whether you are looking for a shaded spot on the beach, a lounger in the sun, or prefer seating closer to the pool, you will find something. A limited number of passes are sold each sailing to ensure it does not get too crowded.

Bonus: While there are cabanas available for rent, there are daybeds with shade in the pool free of charge and included in your pass. Get off the ship early and head straight to Hideaway Beach to secure one of these spots.

There are also in-water hammocks and swings for added relaxation and a change in scenery!

Food Included

If you are getting hungry, you do not need to leave Hideaway Beach to grab lunch. Access to on-site casual dining spots like Slice of Paradise (pizza) and Hideaway Hut (snacks, burgers, etc.) while you’re in the area are included with your Hideaway Beach pass. Some of my favorites included the Greek Salad, Coconut Shrimp, and the Funnel Cakes!

Pool & Chill Spaces

The pool at Hideaway Beach is perfect. A dedicated infinity-edge pool area right on the beach where you can swim, socialize, and relax all with ocean views cannot be beat. While I normally spend more time in the ocean versus a pool given the choice, I spent most of my day here! The pool with ocean views ended up being my favorite place to be.

Additional Features

·        Lockers, showers, and restroom facilities are available in the Hideaway Beach neighborhood.

·        Access is unlimited throughout the day (you can leave and come back using your SeaPass card).

·        While I did not do this, you can also book cabanas or VIP Hideout cabanas within Hideaway Beach for extra privacy, service (like cabana attendants), mini-fridges, floating mats, and more. These are paid upgrades on top of the pass cost.

Please note that prices for Hideaway Beach passes are dynamic (vary by date and sailing) and don’t come as part of your cruise fare. These can be purchased through My Royal Cruise or onboard. If you want to access the family-friendly beaches at Perfect Day at CocoCay, these are included in your cruise fare at no extra charge!
