Disney’s Cool Kid Summer: Why It’s the Best Time to Visit Walt Disney World with Kids

As we begin planning those all-important summer vacations, I can’t help but think back to last summer’s Cool Kid Summer at Walt Disney World—and just how incredible it truly was. I’m still floored by what an amazing addition it was to our June trip, and how perfectly it fit our family’s park days.

We stayed at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn, so our first park day kicked off at EPCOT. After a delicious breakfast at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall, we headed straight to GoofyCore inside CommuniCore Hall—and let me tell you, this spot was an absolute hit. We spent well over two hours there without even realizing how much time had passed.

Right from the start, the PhotoPass opportunity at the entrance was a favorite with my oldest. Our younger daughter had fallen asleep in her stroller after breakfast, and once we stepped inside and felt that glorious blast of air conditioning, I knew we were in for a win. My older daughter was ready to party—and my younger daughter was about to enjoy the nap of her dreams.

Inside, music was pumping, a DJ was spinning fun tunes, and Cast Members were dancing and singing along. During our time there, my girls danced with Goofy, joined a conga line, played with a parachute, did the limbo, participated in interactive games, and even strutted their stuff on a catwalk. The energy was contagious—everyone was smiling, laughing, and clearly having the time of their lives.

Magic Kingdom: Big Top Bash at Storybook Circus

Our next Cool Kid Summer stop was at Magic Kingdom, where we checked out Big Top Bash at Storybook Circus. My girls were absolutely obsessed with this setup. A ringmaster played upbeat dance music while bubbles filled the air, and everyone danced alongside Pluto.

While this location wasn’t air-conditioned, it was well covered and offered plenty of seating, making it a comfortable and welcome break from the Florida heat. Pluto danced with every child and truly made each one feel special—one of those simple moments that ends up meaning so much.

Hollywood Studios: Get Animated in Animation Courtyard

That said, our absolute favorite stop on our Cool Kid Summer tour was at Disney’s Hollywood Studios during the Get Animated event in Animation Courtyard.

Once again, the girls spent over an hour dancing—this time with Timon, Pluto, Vampirina, Doc McStuffins, Fancy Nancy, and Mickey Mouse himself! There were guided dances, free dancing, conga lines, PhotoPass opportunities, and an abundance of air conditioning (a true summer win). Even the adults couldn’t help but join in—the vibe was upbeat, joyful, and full of energy from start to finish.

Why Cool Kid Summer Is Worth Planning Around

Disney truly knocked it out of the park with these experiences. They allow children to interact with characters in a completely different way—through dancing, singing, and play—and you never feel rushed. Each experience feels like a special bonus rather than just another item on your park checklist.

The best news? Disney is bringing Cool Kid Summer back this year.

Fan-favorite experiences like GoofyCore at EPCOT’s CommuniCore Hall are returning, and Magic Kingdom will host Jessie’s Roundup at the Diamond Horseshoe, where Toy Story pals lead kids in dancing and crafts. Hollywood Studios is debuting Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live!, a brand-new interactive stage show designed especially for little ones.

One of the most exciting additions this year is Bluey and Bingo, who will appear at Animal Kingdom’s Conservation Station for meet-and-plays, dancing, and games—an absolute must for families with younger kids.

With plenty of summer deals available to fit almost any budget, there’s truly no better time to visit. Adventure is out there, and your next unforgettable family vacation is just a message away.

Let’s start planning the Disney trip you’ve been dreaming about.
