Caffeine at Sea: A Coffee Lover’s Guide to Disney Cruise Line

When I am sailing on any of the Disney ships, one of my favorite parts of the day is my morning coffee. I love stopping by the Cove Café for a specialty latte, bringing my book, and reading while I enjoy my drink. Honestly, I usually go back for one in the afternoon too because the drinks are just that good! Self-serve coffee is included in the main dining, Cabanas or Marceline Market depending on your ship, and coffee is also included in room service. Specialty Coffee is an extra charge; however, I consider this a delicious, special treat and worth the splurge! Here is my guide to finding the best coffee at sea and earning some free drinks while you are sipping!
Cove Café
Cove Cafe is an adults-only lounge and coffee bar, tucked away in the adults-only section of all Disney ships. Here you can enjoy specialty coffees and teas, alcoholic beverages such as wine, bubbly, and cocktail-style coffees in the afternoon / evening, and complimentary snacks! You will see pastries, afternoon sweets, and evening bite-sized antipasti available. The last time I sailed on the Disney Fantasy, Cove Café had individual charcuterie cups ready for us! These snacks are included in your cruise fare. While the snacks are complimentary, specialty coffees and cocktails are an extra charge.
If you have seen pictures circulating on social media of coffees with Disney characters and designs on top, this is where to order them!
Travel Tip: If you are on the Dream or Fantasy and your kids are jealous of the pictures on your lattes, they can order drinks with the pictures at the Vista Café.
Additional Venues
On the Wish Class Ships, there are additional family-friendly venues on board that serve up specialty lattes and are designed with some of the best themes. Be sure to check out:
· Disney Wish: Wishing Star Café and Enchanted Sword Café
· Disney Treasure: Heihei Café and Jade Cricket Café
· Disney Destiny: Café Megara and Café Merida
Specialty Lattes
Disney will offer specialty lattes each sailing and you may have some extra options if you are sailing during the holidays. My favorite specialty latte is the Salted Caramel Coconut Latte.
Hint: If you love this latte like I do, and miss it once you are back on land, you can get a similar latte in Animal Kingdom. All my clients traveling to Walt Disney World receive a reminder on how to order it!
Always be on the lookout for specialty lattes because you never know where they may be added to the menu! For example, dessert menus in the three main rotational dining rooms often include specialty lattes such as the Caramel Pecan Chai Latte or the Tiramisu Mocha Latte.
On the Disney Magic, the newly reimagined Soul Cat Lounge added an incredible Pistachio Latte to the menu. It is not to be missed!
Money-Saving Tip
Make sure you ask for a punch card on your first order at the Cove Café or other specialty coffee shops. Every time you order, your card will be stamped, and you are one coffee closer to a free drink. This card can be used across all specialty coffee venues on board. I love including tips such as these for my clients sailing with Disney Cruise Line!
Time-Saving Tip
On most sailings, Cove Café will open on disembarkation morning even before the other breakfast spots. Grab one more coffee before leaving the ship! If you have an early flight, you can grab a coffee here and take it to go with you!
From that first quiet sip in the morning to an afternoon pick-me-up between activities, specialty coffee is one of my favorite little luxuries on Disney Cruise Line.
